IFSW Africa Calls for Applications: Regional Representative to the Education Commission


 The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) Africa has announced a call for applications for the position of Regional Representative to the Education Commission


This prestigious voluntary role offers social work professionals the opportunity to contribute to advancing social work education and training across Africa and globally.


The Regional Representative will work closely with the Global Commissioner, IFSW Secretariat, and regional stakeholders to ensure alignment with IFSW’s global education strategy. 


Responsibilities include advocating for quality social work education, supporting policy and programme development, promoting faculty capacity-building, and providing annual reports on regional initiatives.


Applicants must be affiliated with an IFSW member organisation in good standing, demonstrate leadership experience in social work education or academic practice, and possess expertise in public policy implementation. The role is appointed for four years, renewable subject to performance.


Interested candidates are required to submit an Expression of Interest, a curriculum vitae, and a letter of endorsement from their national social work association. Applications should be sent to africa@ifsw.org, with a copy to global@ifsw.org, no later than 17th October 2025.


The final selection will involve the IFSW Africa Selection Committee and a vote by regional member presidents.
